10. Spyro the Dragon.
The last game on this list and surprisingly the first one I thought of while doing this. Spyro the dragon, the very first console game I ever, ever played. This game here, was and always will be the greatest of any playstation game. Ever, End of story, disagree all you want but I’m not jumping on any other damned band wagon here, unless some one can name something I forgot about during my childhood go ahead. Spyro the dragon, damn, the reason I am obsessed with dragons. I loved this game, gliding, breathing fire, charging down worthless foes. The enemy variety was lovely for what I consider to be such an early game. Enemies wearing metal so you couldn’t flame them and too large for you to charge them was a challenge when you were a moronic little kid who wasn’t any good at sports. While, eventually this series of games was over done, I think it was right after year of the dragon? Y’know, when they introduced the girl dragon Cynder, who canon wise should not have existed cause she was no where to be seen when we were rescuing the adult dragons in the first game, or the eggs and then the hatchlings in the third and fourth, eh? Useless bint. Anyway yeah, the 5th game shafted this series, the cross over for the GBA was just a tad meh but anyway. If you never played Spyro, emulate that if at all possible or dig out the old ps1 and crack open those never opened games Granny and Grandpa got you for Christmas, you know the ones you never played cause they looked too childish, cause you were a hard case who played grand theft auto with your mates? Well it may be buried in there so get on with it! Another note about this games and this may just be nostalgia speaking or different dev and art teams on each game, but Spyro does get a wee bit larger each game, sure you can never fly which is a bit of a gip, but anyway it was definitely a game I became very fanatical about clearing, boss battles were always really intense as a child as well, as if you didn’t have a gold dragonfly, called Sparx, you knew you were in for a bad time as a kid. Don’t get me started on Skylanders, it was a fascinating concept the bit of tech you needed to play it, I finally thought we might get card games like YuGiOh, nope, we got Skylanders and while originally it was Spyro: Skylanders, it has since been re branded Skylanders and Spyro has fallen to the way side, sadly forgotten by time and the capitalist regime. But not here, not here.
Anyway, thank you once again Noble readers for trawling through my frivolous ramblings and opinionated rants. I should be back next week with something different for you, so until then, thanks for reading!
