The Beast Master lets you tame and collect 17 animals, there are 2 Dholes, 3 Wolves, 2 Jaguars, a Leopard, 2 Lions, a Honey Badger, a Brown Bear, a Sabretooth Tiger and a Cave Bear. There are 3 specific hunting quests which give you the Great Scar Bear, the Bloodfang Sabretooth and the Snowblood Wolf. You can’t hunt these animals early in the game for good reason, they are extremely aggressive, massively strong and exceptionally fast, so you really need to hone your skills before taking on these 3 giants of the game. Your beast can be injured or even killed in a fight, so learn to take care of them by feeding them, if your beast is killed you will have a limited time to revive it, but you will need to have a stock of red leafs in your possession to do this, but don’t worry there are plenty of them grow throughout the Oros vally . If the animal is killed and you cannot revive it in time, you will need to tame another animal of the same type to replace it. Each beast brings you a perk if you have it accompany you, this will vary from beast to beast and you can switch beasts at any time. You should also consider that the best killing devices in the game are the beasts that accompany you, and of course the owl that you can call which gives an aerial view of the map. The owl can not only look at the area, it can tag the enemy, drop a variety of bombs, it can also swoop and kill enemies, I have taken an enemy base using nothing except the owl. So your beasts not only offer you a level of protection, they also bring you perks and are a useful set of weapons if you wish to use them that way.
