History of Wrestling Games

Fans were eagerly excited to see what they would do with the franchise, with the NBA games being so good and having a very thorough career mode which almost resorted to a short film. WWE fans were licking their lips with the joy of having a quality career mode after all it’s one of the main things i personally wanted for years, Since 2K Sports have been in charge it has been a little poor but slowly building up, 2K16 has the best career mode so far and with the biggest roster the creation is huge.

I’ve touched on WWF/WWE a lot but there were other defining games that have graced our consoles over the years from WCW vs NWO on the N64 and WCW Thunder on the PS1 to TNA Impact on the PS3 and Xbox 360. But like the sport itself the WWF/WWE has dominated. As mentioned previously 2K have really tried to change the spectre of the game and add that budding career mode that they have awards for from the NBA series so the future is bright in terms of wrestling games but one of their major issues is getting the physics right which is another kettle of fish.

With that being said what is your best wrestling game? WWF No Mercy on the N64 which is my buggy favorite or is it WWF Warzone which turned people to their first outing on the PS1 with the attitude era or was it WWF Superstars on the megadrive or did the superstar draft in the original WWE Smackdown vs Raw or the Xbox only Raw 2 with its extensive entrance and custom music make you a fan?
