The Division Beta Reaction

The Intel menu is not available in the BETA, the group Management menu lets you link up with friends, appoint or change the group leader and fast travel to other members of the group. Map lets you access the map, set waypoints, view missions and side missions and intel locations.

The abilities menu gives you access to your 3 abilities, Medical, Tech and Security, which coincides with the upgrading of the Base of Operations. In the BETA only the basic ability is unlocked, but in the full version of the game as you progress you unlock better abilities like setting up medical support stations or automated gun turrets or mobile cover for your team.

Inventory is the most interactive menu in the BETA letting you select and upgrade your equipment as you acquire it, or modifying your weapons. As you progress you get better weapons and kit, and you do need better weapons and kit to survive! Enemies are hard to kill at time, and in the case of an elite enemy who are ridiculously hard to kill even with a number of you pouring fire into them.

The News menu in the BETA only has 2 options one asks for feedback on the forums and the other highlights the official Twitch channel, no doubt there will be much more in the full version of the game.

There is only 1 main mission available in the BETA ‘Madison Field Hospital’ this can be played on normal or hard where you have to find and rescue medical staff. As there are 3 areas of the Base of Operations to upgrade, there will be many more missions in the full game.

“The Dark Zone is not for the faint hearted and you will face some of the most challenging enemies in the game”

We then have the Dark Zone where you can really put your skills to the test, you have a choice to make in the Dark Zone, work together with other players or, go rogue and kill everyone and pick up all of the loot they have captured during their excursion in the zone. The Dark Zone is not for the faint hearted and you will face some of the most challenging enemies in the game, how you play in the dark zone is up to you.

The division has got to be one of the best BETA games that I have played, up until now it was a “take it or leave it game” but that was before I played the BETA, now it is definitely a “Must have game

The full version of The division is available from 8th March 2016 and will cost from around £43 – £120 depending on which version you buy and where you get it from, there is also a season pass costing around £30 which gives access to the 3 planned expansion packs due for release over the course of the coming year.
