Baseball Riot is a Physics based puzzle game where you are a down and out baseball star “Gabe Carpaccio” who is getting back at your old teammates and the evil energy drink sponsor Explodz by smashing them in the face with a baseball (seems legit).
From the makers of Sparkle 2, Crimsonland and another previous reviewed title Tennis in the face 10tons are setting the bar for ID games on the current gen platform.
There are 100 levels for you to get your teeth sunk into that are split into eight different regions. I will warn you, once you have got into the game you will get addicted and if like me those 100 levels won’t seem like that much. I completed the game whilst waiting for another big game to download (about two hours). That is one downfall if you are comparing it to some of the huge titles in the Physics based games like Angry Birds, is that they need to add more levels.
The game can be fun and has some tricky enemies that will work your brain for example, having to go up against Umpires whom are protected from the front or the fielders that have giant gloves which allows them you catch oncoming balls you send their way. There is a cool domino effect if you managed to take one enemy down and they fall on others if you manage to chain enough you’re rewarded with extra balls which makes the game more mental and easier. The music is just like any puzzle game, quirky and in big amounts which can be annoying. Other than the music the sounds are pretty basic when hitting the ball, and it bouncing off every wall all that is missing is strike one and you know the rest…
