The Amazing Princess Sarah Review

You are Sarah, princess of the peaceful realm of Kaleiya. The quiet life of your kingdom was lost the day your father was seduced and then kidnapped by Lilith, a demon mistress.

Her only desire is to dominate your empire and kill you. Use your powerful sword to kill all Lilith’s minions, then quickly throw the dead body on the next enemy to perform amazing combos! Travel through ice castles, cold dungeons, lava caves and much more – straight to the castle where Lilith hides! Bring your father and king back home.

What is the Amazing Princess Sarah?

Well guess your is as good as mine….. That’s not really true if you were to look at the box art then you would think that it was some sort of anime cleavage fest ideal for any 13 year Value wet dream, but when you actually get past that it is a bit of fun.  There’s no getting away from the fact that it is a castlevania clone and the pixel rich graphics remind me of that classic and my C64….

Well there is jump, stab, pick up and throw and that’s it.  Now don’t read that as a negative its simple and fun.  It’s one of those games where the puzzles are pleasingly simple and the enemy’s can be infuriatingly tricky, you have just 1 life and a health bar that’s tucked away so pay attention or you’ll be dead before you know it.  The developers say it’s running at 60fps, now if it was running at anything less I would be concerned as it’s hardly taxing or pushing the Xbox to its technical limits

I played this on both a set of tritton pro+ and my home theatre 5.1 setup.  The sound on this isn’t going to win any awards as the soundtrack is in keeping with its retro roots it’s pretty much a loop of spooky “castley” Muzak that I stopped noticing after about 2 mins of play.  Graphically again this is a retro style game so it’s very 8 bit style, I liked the little touches like as the princess breaths her hair, arms and boobs heave in unison.

What do you think?
