Are you a Pokémon fan still?

I can’t even count in my head the amount of hours i’ve spent training my little/large Pokémon overs the years from the original Gameboy to the new releases on the 3DS, but one thing still close to me is this i still love the franchise.

Recently i’ve seen that you can purchase the original Red, Blue and Yellow versions of the game that were released way back in 1999 in Europe. I was lucky enough to have all three versions and loved the fact that Pikachu followed me around in Yellow. Although back then i didn’t know why there were different versions as they seemed to play the same?

Over the years Gamefreak have gone through several different stones to publish their games from Pearls to Diamonds and even colours. With the pokedex expanding into the thousands one thing still sticks out for me and that is that the game is still appealing and fun to play for all ages.

Nothing better than training your Pokémon to be the best and then taking on the gym leaders to get them all exclusive badges to gain entry to the Elite Four. Building your team has always been a thing i’ve loved over the years and picking your all important first Pokémon at the start.

In the original games you had the choice of Squirtle, Bulbasaur or Charmander. This at the time was a really important decision as it was the pokemon that you’d start you journey on with. Now majority of players will go for Charmander as he is the best at final evolution with Charizard but Squirtle was the Pokémon that would become the strongest of them all when it turned into Blastoise that is.

I remember glitches back in the day where i can travel back to Pallet town and be able to grab the final Pokémon that was left which expanded my arsenal more.

As the times have changed so has the game with Pokémon Go coming out soon which works from your smartphone and allows you to collect Pokémon in the real world and battle other trainers which is amazing but is a little over the top in my opinion.

The game has found it’s way onto the 3DS where in 3D it is amazing and works really well, they have even remade some of the classics with Ruby and Sapphire getting 3D release last year (2015), Sun and Moon are due for release in the back end of 2016 and are evidence that the genre is still something that is loved and played to this day.

Given the movies and the numerous TV show episodes that still air Pokémon is a franchise that for me keeps me coming back to Nintendo for all the right reasons.
