Homefront The Revolution – First Impressions

Weaponry and perks

The weapons and perks available in the beta are as expected limited and capped but what is there handles well and the hit detection feels good.  Ammo carried by the playable character is a little light but you can replen from fallen enemies and refill points scattered throughout the war ravaged city.  There is a crafting element within homefront with allows you to craft IEDs, booby traps and EMP devices these can then be deployed against the enemy’s far superior armor and vehicles.

How does it look and Sound

During game play I used my home theatre 5.1 setup and my tritton pro+  5.1 Headset.  Homefront graphicly is pleasing to the eye, the attention to detailing the environment  is excellent and you get a real feeling of a war ravaged city.  The textures are grimy and the whole environment feels generally dirty and smashed to pieces.  The sound is again very good the weapons sound great and the direction differential is first class.  The developers have taken the time to differentiate the sounds of the weapons in different areas of the map, for example the echos of the report of a rifle fired under a freeway overpass.
