Tiny Troopers Joint Ops is an epic bite-sized arcade shooter brought to us by Epiphany Games, filled to the brim with action-packed mini maps of mayhem. Take control of your tiny troopers as you battle adversaries from around the world with a multitude of weapons and explosives and recruit specialist mercs to aid you in battle.
Tiny Troopers uses a very simple combat system where you use the RS to aim and shoot your enemies the shoulder buttons control the explosive element to your unit, from air strikes to grenades and rockets.
You have a small tutorial which you have to complete to unlock the campaign missions, there is the soldier campaign which is split into three operations which contain 29 missions, they are fairly short so don’t be alarmed. Each mini mission has four difficulties which vary with the amount of enemies and how tough they are.
The spec ops campaign is set across four operations that contain 28 missions as you progress through each mission your rank is increased which in terms makes you tougher, these ranks are set per soldier, you can also upgrade their weapons and movement with credits you earn from completing the missions, you can also gain credits from collecting Intel and dog tags in missions which are scattered across the maps.
Tiny Troopers also has a Zombie mode which is a survival mode and is really fun to play, after 5 waves you’re able to recruit another soldier to join your ranks, the zombies vary in strength and there is also zombie chickens…yes you read that right.
With the controls being so easy I found this game to be a real winner, visually it ain’t the best but does what it says on the tin, the sound though is where is lets it down, the game’s sounds are like something you did as a kid when you would play with your action man. There are cutscenes that are similar to that of a comic strip which are cool too.
For achievement hunters this game has very little achievements (13) and they all pay out big when done.
There is no online element to it which is good but could of had a co-op system to add more fun in my opinion.
