Q*Bert Rebooted Review

Well what can you say about this gem of a classic game other than the reboot is well received and will be a lot of fun for the old and the young alike.

With this game you get a two in one deal with the new Q*bert Rebooted and the old 2d classic Q*bert as well, the game is still the same after all these years where you still have to jump to change the blocks to the color just like the original but with the new Rebooted version its just with better graphics and friendly controls to this day and age.

The new Q*bert seems to have been dulled down quite a bit compared to the original as i was flying through the new game but then struggled to get to level 4 on the old version, i don’t know if this was done on purpose but i don’t think a few of the older gamers who played this as a child will be happy about it.

So in Q*bert Rebooted you go through a level that consists of 3 different stages which vary in difficulty while also collecting gems which in turn allow you to unlock different playable characters like zillabert or count bert to name a few.

All the levels are very bright and eye caching same as Q*bert and the enemies themselves all look really good, the old Q*bert has not changed at all which is a good thing why ruin a classic of a game keep it the same and build a new game around it and they have done it well.

The sound of the game is ok very bouncey music when you’re played can get really compacement and then the sound effects of Q*Bert and his enemies is really basic, they all have the same sound i felt that in the new Rebooted version they could have added some new sounds to make it stand out more other than the graphics and after a while it gets real annoying.

The controls for the new Q*bert are simple LS to move and A to jump so it’s easy to pick up and kills an hour getting used to them, moving around the map feels very easy and fluent which is great until you get carried away and jump off the map. The old Q*bert is just LS so even easier although it is harder to move around as you have to go back on yourself to go left and right unlike the new Rebooted version where you can go diagonally.
