HALO vs DESTINY

Having not one but two massive multiplayer online games from one developer is quite impressive and shows great ambition from Bungie. Destiny burst onto the scene of next gen consoles with a bang with it’s slick gameplay, outstanding graphics and massive open world maps. So what better way than to open up pandora’s box and ask the question to upset the masses, which game of these blockbusters is better…

Whilst Halo has a long legacy of brilliant titles spanning back years it’s hard to really compare in my opinion as Halo has been a benchmark for many FPS shooters to follow, so we will follow suit and compare what they have to offer on the new generation of 60fps of awesomeness. There’s no doubt Destiny’s gameplay is unprecedented first-person shooting experience that is a hard act to follow but master chief is always up for a tough challenge.

Storytelling

There is no denying that when Destiny arrived that we all quickly discovered that the story (campaign) was, well pretty poor. I mean really bad, unfinished, unimaginative waste of my hard earned cash. But the Bungie slowly restored my faith with the expansion pack The Dark Below, and The Taken King. This is how the story should have been told from the beginning as it really did open up the game into something special, as the first attempt felt like a massive Beta. So from Taking Crotas behind and handing it to him while slapping the fallen crap of out Skola’s face in the Prison Of Elders to jumping on Oryx’s ship and causing universal chaos on his odd looking city sized ship we now have a story to enjoy.

Halo has always had a title of one of the biggest gaming franchise ever made, Halo has everything you want :Slick combat, graphics, multiplayer, and an incredible story which i have grown up with. Blasting your way through a bazillion Convenant alien with your rifle was immensely fun and defiantly ensured my future as a FPS groupie! I feel like Cortana was as much a part of my life as she was the Chiefs! The loyal warrior has been a universal asset for years fighting the Convenant. So for me this was a close call with the eventual release of Destiny’s expansions which did eventually turn into a good story there’s no denying that Master chief story is a clear winner.
